Guide to succeed at Pang.

1) Get on the forums and absorb technical info and the ICQ numbers of helpful people
2) Install ICQ (IM client from the early neolithic)
3) Install UOAM (for gameplay and social reasons)
4) Connect with people, find a group you're comfortable with and have them teach you step by step.

Rofl! Sad but true, it's necessary.

Install Pidgin instead ICQ. ICQ is a horribly heavy and ugly software with tons of ads in its genuine form. Pidgin is a lightweight 3rd party progam which support the protocol and works better.

Or Miranda, because Pidgin is gay.

* Guildmasters are spread out in Pangaea, so you might need to travel far trough the land to find yours.

If you think you might want a merchant character, start with them as your first character
1) this allows you to build a bankroll using the "job" function, fighters and mages are less likely (not entirely out of the picture) to have the skills required to get a "job" from a merchant
2) You will learn the layouts of towns much easier as a merchant due to your having to spend more time in them and running around in them
3) Being in town is much safer than out of town so you won't be as likely to get murdered or robbed on your first few days here

Most classes get camping as a skill, this is a great skill to work on in the early game as it allows you to regenerate at the fire easier and can save you when you run out of bandages.... and kindling is always just a few clicks away (use a dagger[d-click dagger] on a tree to cut kindling)
