A request for Imperial from a couple New Haven crafters

Post by tehsquish »

A note is pinned to the boards with the People of New Haven insignia:

Greetings to the Imperium!

Two of my merchant friends have been slaving away for days in an effort to produce a couple seaworthy large boats without success... I was hoping a follower of Her might take pity upon them and convince their diety to lend Her powers to the carpenter for a short time.

I realize this may be somewhat of an unusual request, this will be the last order of boats they'll be accepting since the carpenter is now more interested in stringing bows - however she must complete the order before starting new training! Since she has not practiced carpentry for ages like other merchants of this land... the cost of failure is very high.

I give you my assurance that these boats will never be used in war should you choose to assist us.

Please contact either myself or Ms. Hemlock of New Haven if this is something you may consider!

I've been informed by the Imperials that my request is unfortunately impossible - however I'd like to thank them anyway for their consideration!

To be clear, Esuna, who is the one that bestows her blessings upon the Order, has seen fit to only allow those merchants who are within the Order itself to be bestowed with her blessing. This is to keep our burgeoning mercantile services alive and prosperous. Keep in mind, the Order is always looking for mercantile recruits should you be interested in learning more of the Order and Esuna herself, literature is readily available. Do not however consider this as a recruitment campaign but instead as an olive branch of sorts to keep on friendly relations with the mercantile services of New Haven and the rest of the Order's territories it currently holds.

I appreciate your endeavors as the life of a merchant is a noble and honest profession. I also appreciate that the Order is fresh in your mind when you seek help in matters. We are here to serve the people whom we have been charged to protect, often times I believe this has been forgotten by both parties from time to time. I am thankful that you had the forethought to seek out our help in your time of need and am deeply sorry we could not meet your request. I am but a humble monk of the Imperial Order with very little power within the Order itself, but wanted to extend my thanks and appreciation for trying to contact the Order on this most important matter. As I stated, the mercantile services with which you and your merchant brethren offer is the backbone of every township across the lands.
