Too hard in the beggining/low playerbase

Post by Glarundis »

don't you feel like it's too hard to start from scratch?
perhaps i just feel that i'm bored with doing small stuff because i've done greater things before
but don't you think many ppl might get scared off due to the difficulty?
i think it should be made easier on them or they should specifically be told that you have to spend some weeks until you can actually do something.perhaps a message when they create char or something like that

I think the starting gear should be with over 9000 carrots

lol the first days where you have to go to the farm is just the best xD
if you have friends who give you easyuo script the first days before you can hunt are not that bad
you just put it in autopilot and wait
but for those that are totally new and without friends here
it has got to be the most boring thing ever
really, they should be warned that the game rocks once they can do smth, but before it takes a lot of time and patience

another thing we should have is info like, for instance
i know how to make bandages, so i just went to the fields, spent some minutes harvesting, then i go to tailor and quickly get tons of bandages
these small things should be available for them in order to make it easier.if ppl know what to do next, i don't thing they mind that it takes long
i for one don't mind if it takes some time to do something, as long as i know i am doing exactly the right thing and i'm not wasting time by doing it wrong

I have to admit it was a little hard when I returned to Pangaea, but once I role played and met some people it became easy.

I couldn't imagine how hard it would be if you started off as a robber/thief though. :p

Is it still legal to steal gear with the Thief char? Never thought to ask..

I like the idea of Pang being made a tad easier at the beginning though myself. *Thumbs Up*

Thiefs can steal, assassins can kill. No change in them.

i approve of making it easier for new characters and returning players in some way

EDIT: how about removing macro checks?

People should start rallying round and poaching some good UO players from places.

All of its tiny problems aside, pang is still pretty neat.
