I never used skype, I have no mic...

Thus I ask, lazy I am, no googling... - as people here do know stuff.


Is there a lightweight client for skype, like pidgin/miranda for icq and msn? Official clients for this and that tend to be just fking bloatware. Never used skype. Would like to chat with my parents.

You can use Skype with Pidgin BUT:
You'll still need Skype installed and running, it'll just be running in hidden mode.
You'll only be able to use it for text chat, if a call comes in, the usual skype window will open.
