Re: The Free City of Yew

Post by Johnny Walac »

The guards waved the wagon through and they entered The Free City. Johnny had been guarding the caravan all the way from Minoc and the guards of Yew were a welcoming sight. They unloaded the iron at the building site and then set out towards the tavern for supper. The security have been doubled this week because of the recent war and guards were stationed everywhere. Even now when the war was over they kept a few extra guards around. They have built a guard post at the road leading into Yew where the wagons were checked by the militia of Yew. The tavern was crowded but the caravan guards found a table and supper was brought to them and a pitch of the dark ale of Yew. The mood in the city was slowly regaining to its normal state but most soldiers were still on alert.

War…

The fog was thick over Moonglow when a sudden green light appeared out of nowhere and through the portal stepped several soldiers of Gaea. They lined up and faced the city of Imperial. This attack would be brutal and bloody. Order of Imperial had attacked the citizens of Yew and now was the time to show the true power of Gaea. The command was given and they set out towards the city. They stormed the iron gate and rode straight into town and the guards was taken by surprise. At full speed they ran through the town then took a left and headed straight for the enemy temple. It did not take long before the guardians of their temple were dead. A member of Imperial stood by the altar with weapon in hand. The Imperial soldier was quickly cut down and the blood of the infidel was gathered in a pool around the altar of Esuna. A druid well known for being an ally to Imperial was killed in the middle of the town and was made an example of. Another portal was made and they entered the temple of Gaea for resupply.
It did not take long before the alarm was made. Imperial soldiers had been sighted in the forest of Yew and they were marching towards the temple. Everyone quickly prayed to Gaea for her strength before lining up outside the temple. But the attack would not happen here. Instead of staying here defending the temple they rode out into the forest and took the Imperial unaware. The Imperial soldiers were lead by their Headpriest and Second in Command. The soldiers of Gaea stormed into the mass of enemies and they swung their weapon left and right. People screamed and stench of death was around them. Johnny cleaved the skull of a soldier before swinging his halberd around and crashed it into another soldiers back crushing his spine. Johnny dragged the halberd free and rushed forward. The Imperial soldiers fell one by one as the guardians of the circle crushed them. Johnny swung around in time to meet the scepter of their Second in Command. Johnny quickly countered and his halberd was buried into the man’s shoulder. Alus Vitellus came from the side and his scepter crushed the skull of the Imperial commander. The sight of a dead officer quickly spread fear amongst the Imperial army and they started to scatter. Quinta stood in their path of retreat and several died before they even reached the end of the forest. Jorgen had slayed several soldiers too and victory was certain. They scanned the battlefield making sure nothing moved before heading back to the temple.

There was no time to rest. Several Imperial soldiers had gotten away including their Headpriest. Everyone gathered supplies before entered the portal back to Moonglow. The blood was boiling of war as they fought their way into Esunas temple. The Headpriest of Imperial were waiting for them but Quinta’s battlecry crushed their moral and as she rushed into the temple the rest followed with her. Their Headpriest died by Quinta’s halberd in the middle of their own temple and several soldiers of Imperial died by Gaea’s army. Once again Order of Nature were victorious on the battlefield. Almost the whole Imperial army had been crushed. Everyone headed back to the Free City to spread the news. Not short thereafter came news of the ending of the war. This was good news as the construction of their Townhall had come to a halt since the war.

They had finished their supper and everyone headed back to the barracks for some rest. A new shipment from Vesper was coming in and stone too. They needed the rest because it was gonna be a busy day in The Free City of Yew.
