*A letter to Order of Imperial*

Post by Johnny Walac »

A messenger arrives to the Imperial temple in Moonglow.

"Greetings,

Our past has not been a good one but the wounds have healed. New possibilities arise as the power changes in the land.
I would like to have a meeting with the leaders of Imperial.

*Tyrion reviews the message and considers different responses for a moment before jotting a reply*

Dearest Thoeak,

This news to meet comes on the heels of quietly important changes within the political landscape of our world. While your message is expected, it is also welcomed. The history of our two groups is quite a violent one and actions taken by you and yours have not healed with time. Imperial will hear your words objectively but only if the following pre-conditions are met:

  • 1. All hostile actions directed towards any member of the Order of Imperial and Imperial Kingdom cease
    2. All traffic into and out of Imperial lands by you and yours cease (as listed by our territorial markings)
    3. These above stated conditions are met and upheld for a period of two weeks
    4. Accept the Telborean position as subordinate to the Order of Imperial and Imperial Kingdom

Should these conditions be accepted unconditionally, a meeting will be held.

Dear Tyrion,

I am afraid that I must go ahead and ignore your letter.
I was warned by the members of Order of Imperial that you would send a reply.
You hold no power in Order of Imperial and therefor your poltical message cannot be taken serious.

I was told to await answer from the Headpriest of Order of Imperial.
And you dearest Tyrion, are no Headpriest.

*Tyrion shakes his head quietly as he reads the letter and considers a reply*

Dearest Thoeak,

You are correct ofcourse, I am not the Head Priest, however, I am authorized to speak in his stead. The tone of your last message has raised eyebrows in Imperial leadership. Extending the flag of truce and then presuming to disrespect a high ranking member of the Imperial Kingdom has all but killed any hopes for parley. I recommend prudence in any further communication you initiate with Imperial and Her representatives or there will be none. I believe the pre-conditions provided below are fair and warrant further consideration on your part and will list them once more.

  • 1. All hostile actions directed towards any member of the Order of Imperial and Imperial Kingdom cease
    2. All traffic into and out of Imperial lands by you and yours cease (as listed by our territorial markings)
    3. These above stated conditions are met and upheld for a period of one - two weeks
    4. Accept the Telborean position as subordinate to the Order of Imperial and Imperial Kingdom

If these conditions are accepted in a reply, then we will move forward from there.

Dearest Theoak,

As a current High Council member, I am here to inform you that all responses of the High Council are those of our High Officer also. Our positions of power are not up for discussion however, and if you truly wanted a meeting we should of focused on that topic alone. I'll reiterate what Brother Tyrion our second in command has said, the conditions stand due to our previous interactions of war and hostility.

This will however be our last response on the topic from Imperial. Future meetings seemed strained but can be considered if certain conditions are met. Speak with us on these conditions, or we don't speak at all.

Signed,

The Order of Imperial High Council

*Thoeak reads the letter and then places it among the rest*

"Greetings,

I was wondering why you kept sending these letters. But I have gotten new information about the political situation inside Imperial. I thought Imperial had a Headpriest that could answer me, this was not the case. I would also like to say that your conditions are rejected. The Telborean Empire feel that Imperial is not stable enough at the moment so if a meeting will take place, it will be in the future. Once we feel that Order of Imperial is in a healthy state we will contact you. Until then we will have to keep arresting the Imperial members that are trespassing on Telborean ground. I do not take the caught Imperial members as an insult be assured. I do not expect anything else from a chaotic religion as Imperial. Even though we are at war I hope you are able to get back on your feet.

Dear Mr Milner,

First of all let me point out that in your original letter, you requested response from the leaders of the Order of Imperial, that request was fulfilled, and three members of the high council contacted you separately. You then stated that this was unsatisfactory and changed your demands, perhaps in future you need to be more mindful of your choice of wording, as it is clear to me that what you asked for and what you wanted were in fact two different things. Also, in response to your definitions of our Order as 'chaotic' and 'unhealthy', might I also point out that the three brothers that responded to your letter, all requested that the same conditions were met and did not contradict each other in any way. This seems to be at odds with your blinkered view of the great Order of Imperial and the unkind words you used to describe us.

When making future contact, might I suggest that you ensure that the words you are writing are consistent with what it is you are trying to say, so that we avoid any unnecessary confusion. Might I also take this opportunity to let you know, that the Order is as strong as it has ever been, and any report or rumour you might have heard about dissent or disagreement in our ranks, is in fact, entirely false.

I hope my letter finds you in good health.

Signed,

Baltis Scribble, Imperial Scribe
