Moonglow Messenger Service, Delivery to Maven Vaux

Post by Cyrus Tegyr »

*Soraya quickly places two stacks of books onto two counters of the newly acquired property intended to be used as a library in Moonglow and begins to hastily dig through her still unpacked traveler's chest*

"I wonder what I did with that piece of parchment?" She said to herself as she dug through the chest. "Aha! There you!" reaching past her pen and ink she couldn't help but flinch as the feather slightly brushed the underside of her wrist. As she pulled out the parchment, she heard a tap on the door. Soraya stood up straightened out her blue plain dress she had adopted to wearing since she left the temple and walked toward the door, a little cautiously she opened it and saw a scruffy looking man standing, she quickly realized why he had come. This was a dispatch sent by the MMS (Moonglow Messenger Service), "Come in and have a seat sir, I shall have the message ready for delivery soon and will let you be on your way." As Soraya took her seat at the desk she had constructed at the back portion of the from room of the newly purchased building, the messenger sat down in a chair across from her and hungrily eyed the fish steaks that Soraya had sitting out on the left side of her desk. "Please, help yourself sir, I must apologize however as I do not have any drink to offer you" Soraya said to the messenger. As the man began to pick up the first fish steak, Soraya looked down and reached over to grab her pen from her inkwell and set out to finish the letter to the newly appointed divine cleric Maven Vaux.
Dear Mr. Vaux
I am sure you remember me, not to say that there is anything exceptional about myself that would set me apart from any other but I used to spend countless hours sitting inside the temple on the front left bench copying countless texts from one scroll to another. I left the Imperial Order to travel more freely from the biggest city to the smallest hamlet looking for ancient texts that have been long since forgotten and locked away in the darkest corners of both private and public archives. Through much research and contacts I have in some of these more major cities, I have come across a few dust covered tomes and tightly bound letters chronicling certain events in Yew that might be of interest to the Imperial Order as well as some biographical stories of persons from times past. I have purchased a tiny building on the southwest corner of the island of Moonglow and with your permission would like to open it as a sort of unofficial library for the citizens of Moonglow as well as travelers to this fair island. I would like to stock its shelves with texts and lore of the Order so that those who visit will get a better understanding of the Order's beginnings, it's founding members and what they strove when they set out on the monumental task of serving Her will as well as where the Order stands today.

With that, there is but one more request I would like to meet with you about, I am interested in returning to the good graces of the Imperial Order, I feel I have had an epiphany on what to do with myself as a scribe of the Order if I am deemed worthy enough to return. I shall leave it to you and patiently await a response.

the humble amanuensis,
Soraya Mozhan
Looking up at the messenger now half asleep in the chair across from her, she slowly and carefully placed the pen back into the inkwell and slowly rose to her feet, crossing to the other side of the desk, she gently shook the messenger to awaken him. "Here you are I am truly sorry about the wait, but I have finished it if you would be so kind to deliver this to one Maven Vaux, he lives just..." Before she could spit the words out, the messenger said "I know wher' 'e lives, 'e practically oversees the island" Nodding, Soraya let the messenger out and began looking through some of the letters and other documents she had acquired while away from the Imperial lands.
